Freestyle skating

Freestyle is primarily for skaters to practice spins, jumps, and moves in the field (edge control, balance, and power).

These sessions are open for individuals to practice independently and/or take private lessons.

Requirement: All Skaters must be at a Learn to Skate Level 4, or by instructor approval

All skaters must adhere to the following protocol:

PROTOCOL AND ETIQUETTE

Follow the counterclockwise direction of traffic unless in a lesson, program, or practicing a skill that requires the opposite direction.

Music will be played on a fair rotation, those in a lesson have the right to “bump” one time.

Who has the Right of Way?

1) Skaters running their program with music

2) Skaters in a lesson

3) Skaters setting up a jump pattern

Spins should be done in the center of the ice between blue lines and the center circle.

Avoid standing in the center of the ice. Please stand next to the boards when not moving.

Be patient--we're all learning!

Skaters, Parents, and Coaches will always show respect for each other and the facility.

The use of headphones on the ice is prohibited.

Parents or coaches from other rinks should notify the rink before coaching during a freestyle session.

Tuesdays*: 4:00 - 5:00 PM

Sundays: 4:15 - 5:45 PM

Cost: $15 per session, or included with Skating/Hockey Pass
