The Skate-A-Thon is a community-powered fundraiser supporting the Winthrop Rink’s On Thin Ice capital campaign. Every lap skated helps secure the future of our ice—ensuring kids have access to affordable skating, hockey, and life-building opportunities for generations to come.

Every lap skated and every pledge made helps protect the future of our outdoor rink — ensuring safe, reliable ice and keeping skating accessible for local kids, families, and visitors for generations to come. This is our chance to rally together and invest in a place that gives so much joy to our valley.
Skaters of all ages are encouraged to participate, cheer each other on, and help build momentum toward this shared goal. The evening will conclude with an Adult Hockey Marathon fundraiser, keeping the energy (and the ice) alive late into the night.
Date: Saturday, February 28, 2026
Each skater will have one full hour on the ice to complete as many laps as possible.
A realistic and achievable goal is 60–120 laps per hour.
Skate Times:
10U & Under: 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Over 10U: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Prizes & Raffle Announcements: Immediately following each skate session
How Pledges Work:
Skaters collect pledges before the event. Donors may choose:
A flat donation, or
A per‑lap pledge based on how many laps the skater completes in one hour
IMPORTANT: All pledges must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. February 28th.
Adult Hockey Marathon:
Begins at 8:00 p.m. and continues through the night and into the a.m. Details to come.

The more laps you skate, the more raffle tickets you earn — and the better your odds of winning! Larger prizes will be drawn after the final skate session and include all skaters.
For every 5 laps completed, skaters earn one raffle ticket.
