Practice makes perfect, they say. Stick & Puck is a time when hockey players can hone their skills at passing, shooting, and stick handling.
Details
Stick & Puck is a public session when anyone can come out to practice their hockey skills and have fun with friends and family. We provide the nets, pucks, and training aids. You provide the hard work. Stick & Puck is meant for skill practice. Scrimmages and pick-up hockey games are strictly prohibited.
Please note, Stick and Puck sessions have a wide range of participant ages and skill levels. You are expected to share the ice and equipment with others. Please skate and practice safety, and follow any instructions from Rink Staff.
Equipment Requirements
Skaters ages 14 and under must wear helmet with full face shield + full equipment (gloves, elbow, shoulder, hockey pants, and shin pads).
Skaters ages 15–17 must wear helmet with full face shield + protective gloves.
Skaters ages 18+ must wear helmet with half face shield + protective gloves.

Directions & PARKING
We're located just across the Spring Creek Bridge from the Town of Winthrop. Get directions. For general parking, please use upper lot. For ADA parking and deliveries, use lower lot.

Our rental skates may be used for Drop-In. And we sometimes have loaner hockey sticks available for people to use. Unfortunately, we do not provide any safety equipment for use.

All players must stay off the ice until Zamboni has exited the surface and the Zamboni doors are shut. Do not enter ice from Zamboni doors.

It is simply unsafe to have any form of competitive hockey games being played during a Stick & Puck session. By stepping onto the ice, a participant accepts the Winthrop Rink’s “Code of Responsibility” and commits to following the entirety of its regulations. If a participant fails to do so, they are solely responsible for the consequences of their actions.
