Advanced HOckey Clinics

Details

Each 1-hour clinic targets a single skill area — such as power skating, puck control, shooting, or situational play. This clinic allows players to get quality reps and detailed instruction. Clinics are run on half-ice to maximize touches, intensity, and individual feedback.

• Who: Intermediate to advanced hockey players, with at least 2 years of playing experience (18+)

• When: Sundays, 7:15 – 8:15 PM *(8:00 – 9:00PM for first class only on 1/18)

• Format: 1-hour, half-ice skill-focused clinic

• Cost: $20 per class

Spots are limited to 15 players. Register for individual sessions and choose the skills you want to develop most.

Clinic #1 — Net Front/Corner Battles

• Date: Sunday, January 18th

• Time: 8:00 – 9:00PM *(please note the change in time for this date only)

• Cost: $20

This week's class, led by Coach Tony Carlson, focuses on the physical battles in front of the net and in the  corners. Participants will be coached on the skills and techniques of winning your battles while also understanding the limits of physical play relative to your opponent and play levels. Tony is certain to spice it up with some digs and chirps.

Offense Positioning, Screening the Goalie, Shots from the Point, Tips, Rebounds

Defense Positioning, Clearing the Lane, Stick Lifts, Rebounds

CORNER BATTLES

Positioning, 1v1, 2v2, Moving the puck, Freezing the Puck

Clinic #2 — Shooting

• Time: 7:15 – 8:15PM

• Cost: $20

How's your shooting? Can you hit the broad side of a barn? Do you need lift, power, speed?

Basic shooting instruction from how to hold your stick, to the importance of footwork, and the transfer of  energy. Warm-up will start with some stationary drills, but be ready to skate.

The speed will pick up to receiving a pass on the move while releasing quick shots.  Goalies are appreciated!
